Engineering Background

I'm not just a Designer. I'm an Engineer who's thrived in high-pressure environments. That technical rigor, process discipline, and systems thinking now drive every project at my independent studio, Bullbrook Studio.

Back in 2023, I stepped into the role of a Senior Engineer within the Reliability department at Hawaiian Airlines. I quickly became one of the core focal points for Skywise - an application developed by Airbus and Palantir for the aviation industry. I built and maintained web apps that surfaced reliability insights - everything from fleet health dashboards to automated regulatory reporting. Along the way, I rolled out data-governance practives that brought consistency to datasets and even ran hands-on training sessions to get analysts and engineers up to speed. My highlight? Rewriting the entire data repository with the help of an intern with a lean, readable, and extensible system.

Prior to that, I was part of the Compliance Team at Rolls-Royce working on the new Trent XWB-84EP engine. I worked on performance simulations - compressor stalls and surges, combustor flameouts, turbine overspeeds - and authored the test schedule that every new engine must pass.

And during the pandemic, I got pulled into the British Royal Navy's Type 45 Destroyer program, churning out CAD drawings under tight deadlines. I would sync with engineers over video calls, iron out discrepancies, and redline drawings. This role was my crash crouse on getting the details right before anything goes lives.

Every one of these projects and others were a sprint and a lesson, and those experiences sharpened my systems thinking, taught me to document every decision, and instilled an Engineer's respect for clarity. Habits I bring to every Figma file in Bullbrook Studio.
